Beautiful Ginevra Renaissance Dress

The early Renaissance epoch is one of the most marvelous and amazing periods in history. The rise of art and culture greatly influenced the period's fashion.

This early Renaissance dress combines the naivete and elegance of the silhouette with the complexity and richness of trimming and details.

This dress is typical of the second half of the fifteenth century, which was known as "gamurra" and referred to as the so-called Florentine fashion period. Dresses were usually worn over the corset and chemise, which are not included but are available in our store.

The dress is made of natural cotton velvet (one of the limited fabric versions has flocked design), the skirt has 8 or 10 gussets depending on the customer's size. The dress requires 13-16 yards of fabric, and the skirt hem length exceeds 11 yards. It is decorated with trim and a pomegranate ornament exclusively designed and manufactured for this project. The bodice and sleeves are embroidered with artificial pearls and silvery lace. The sleeves are attached to the dress with three velvet laces and can be fastened with buttons at the wrists. The bodice has cut-outs where the chemise can be seen. The dress is laced at the front. Bodice and sleeves have viscose lining.

This dress requires a rather precise fit, so please be careful while taking your measurements. The dress can be worn with or without a corset, though a corset will definitely increase authenticity and emphasis of the outline.
